This portrait sculpture of Benjamin Franklin is a reprodution of the original marble bust which was crafted by the great French neoclassical sculptor Jean-Antoine Houdon.
Houdon lived from 1741 to 1828, and was one of the most celebrated sculptors of his day. He was commissioned to create sculptures of a number of American leaders, including Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, and Thomas Jefferson.
On the underside of the black base onto which the replica is mounted is a label which provides interesting historical information about Benjamin Franklin and Houdon. The base has 4 rubber felts to protect your fine furniture.
Great care is taken to ensure that this sculpture is delivered to you in perfect condition. The sculpture is packaged in a plastic bag, which is then encased in form fitting foam, which in turn is inserted into a gift box. The gift box is then inserted into an outer box for mailing.
