Abraham Lincoln - Farewell Address, Springfield, IL, Feb. 11, 1861
This speech was delivered by Abraham Lincoln on February 11, 1861 as he was leaving Springfield, Illinois bound for Washington for his inauguration as the sixteenth President of the United States. Several thousand citizens of Illinois gathered to see Lincoln depart. This antiqued parchment poster includes both a replica of his original handwritten speech, as well as a typed version and historical notes.
