Benjamin Franklin - Petition Against Slavery 1790

Franklin's Petition Against Slavery was submitted to the Senate and House of Representatives on February 3, 1790 on behalf of the Pennsylvania Society for the Abolition of Slavery. This antiqued parchment poster reproduction also includes Franklin's cover letter to John Adams, Vice President of the United States, requesting his recognition of the petition.
